Show Cedar Music Students Win Places on All-State Orchestra Five Instrumental music students stu-dents from the Cedar City high school were honored with places In the All-State Orchestra that played at the UEA convention in Salt Lake City last week end. The students, trained by A. B. Larson, Lar-son, won their places in the orchestra or-chestra through competition with students from other schools of the state. The 125 members of the orchestra or-chestra were selected in contests held in various parts of the state. The five Cedar students participating partici-pating were Joy Tait and Marilyn Mari-lyn Miles, viola; Geraldine Fak-ler, Fak-ler, base clarinet; Carolyn Pace, French horn, and Donald Mos-dell, Mos-dell, B-flat Clarinet. Prof. William Knuth of San Francisco State college, was guest director of the orchestra. Prof. Knuth is director of the In-terlochen, In-terlochen, Michigan, summer camp orchestra, the outstanding high school musical organization in the nation, and to work under such a leader was a real inspiration inspira-tion to the young Utah musicians. |
