Show Two Children Hurt at Play, One Dies In Hospital of Injuries A happy game turned to tragedy tra-gedy for four young children Sunday afternoon, when one of their number died while being treated for injuries received while playing. Eight-year-old Jacqueline Baldwin, daughter of Byron Baldwin and Beth Robinson Robin-son Baldwin McConnell, died at the Iron County hospital while receiving surgical treatment for a deep wound in the right thigh. Doctors reported that a spasm of the larynx or causes not definitely def-initely known was the cause of death. The unfortunate child, in company com-pany with two younger sisters, and her step-brother, Sherrlll Larson, were playing in a lumber lum-ber yard, when four sheets of heavy metal fell, pinning Jacqueline Jac-queline and Sherrill underneath. Both received severe injuries, the young girl suffering a deep wound in the thigh and lacerations lacera-tions of the legs, and the boy suffering a broken leg. The other two children escaped injury and summoned help for the two pinned pin-ned under the metal. Funeral services for the young girl were conducted in the Third ward chapel, Wednesday afternoon after-noon with Bishop Leo Larson presiding. Speakers at the services were Bishop Larson and Charles R. Hunter, and sentiments were given giv-en by Mrs. Liliis Larson and Mrs. Arthur Brown, Jacqueline's school teachers. Invocation was by Fern-leigli Fern-leigli Gardner, and benediction by Charles Mosdell. Burial was in the cemetery at Pa rowan, where the dedicatory prayer was offered by Bishop Leonard Evans. The musical program included a vocal duet. "Whispering Hope" by DeMoine and Esther Jones; a vocal solo, "My Little Rosebud Has Left Me", by Miss Bea Roberts, Rob-erts, and the closing xoiig, by Mr. and Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Webster was accompanist. Jacqueline was born May 2, 19-10 in Parowan. She was a third grade student in the Cedar City elementary school.
