Show Cedar Chamber of Commerce Adopts Blue Card System The Chamber of Commerce, through its merchant's committee, has adopted a "Blue Card" system of control of solicitors and peddlers, and asks everyone in town to cooperate coop-erate in order that the citizens may be protected from unscrupulous solicitors so-licitors or peddlers. Under this system the merchants committee sets up a special investigating inves-tigating committee to determine the status of any salesman, solicitor, and the soundness of his proposition. proposi-tion. If they find any unsatisfactory condition in any phases of any proposition prop-osition they will refuse to Issue a "Blue Card". Therefore if any peddlers, ped-dlers, solicitors or salesmen calls upon you and cannot produce a Blue Card, you should refuse to buy from him or support his cause. If I his cause is worthy or his business legitimate, he will have a card to present. The success of the system will depend entirely upon the support citizens give it. It is a simple matter mat-ter to obtain a card if the cause Is mini hi 111 n worthy, so there is no excuse for not presenting a card, other than that the committee feels that the public should be protected from the activities of the individual. The card is Just a blue card, post card size, and is signed by the Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. |
