Show Large Crowd Sees Cedar City High SchoolGraduation Graduates of the Cedar City high school received their diplomas dip-lomas before a capacity crowd, who filled the public school auditorium aud-itorium to hear the exercises. Samuel Abbott, president of the Iron County School Board presented the diplomas to 105 graduates, four others, who completed com-pleted requirements for graduation gradua-tion while in the armed services, will receive their high school certificates. Glen E. Snow, president of the National Education Association, Associa-tion, gave the graduation address. ad-dress. Mr. Snow told the graduates grad-uates that the individual's responsible for his or her growth toward maturity. Taking from others, and not doing anything in return is not conducive to growth, the speaker said. Wisdom, Wis-dom, strength, courage, and the light of truth come through attacking" at-tacking" problems, overcoming dangers, performing tasks, and seeking the truth, Mr. Snow told the graduates. President Snow said that there are approximately 2,000,000 boys and girls graduating from high School In the United States this year. These graduates have given giv-en the light that is symbolic of righteous powers, and should see that they direct it to the peoples peo-ples of the world. Student speakers were UlDene Adams and Blaine Tueller, who represented their class. Prayers were offered by Avis Palmer and Gordon Pace. Music was furnished furn-ished by the combined choruses and orchestra of the high 6chool. Following the commencement exercises, graduates, parents and patrons were entertained with a dance .at the high school gym. |
