Show Wildlife Federation Makes Fish Count At Navajo Lake M. J. Madsen of the State Fish and Game Department, and officers of-ficers of the Cedar City Wildlife Federation have made further studies of conditions at Navajo lake during the past two weeks, and while they found that many fish have died, they report that conditions are not as bad as they have been in previous years. An actual count of dead fish at the lake total 1430, and the group estimated that perhaps another 1000 had died. This would indicate that the winter loss at the lake has been about 2500, and no further loss should result. A detailed report of the findings find-ings at the lake will be given at a general business meeting of the club to be held on Tuesday, June 8. The meeting will be held at the El Rey Cafe at 8:00 p. m. and all members are urged to be present. A dutch lunch will be served. Rules for the weekly fish catching contests have been published pub-lished and everything is in readiness read-iness for the opening of the season sea-son June 12. Arnold Anderson, president of the federation reports. re-ports. Merchants who have donated do-nated prizes will be announced later. To be eligible for the contest con-test a sportsman must be a member of the club, so Mr. Anderson An-derson urges all fishermen to contact Ace Terry or H. M. End-sley End-sley for their membership cards. |
