' ' , ; ' FRANCIS BETENSON Harold Sargent, assistant cashier cash-ier at the Bank of Southern Utah since the close of World War II, has resigned to accept a position with the Federal Deposit Insurance Insur-ance Corporation, and Francis W. Betenson, City Treasurer, has submitted his resignation from the city position to accept a position posi-tion in the bank, succeeding Mr. Sargent. The change in positions leaves Mayor Gronway R, Parry with the problem of filling two Important Im-portant city positions, since Sargent Sar-gent was elected a member of the City Council, and has resigned re-signed from the position to accept ac-cept the banking position. Mayor Parry states that he hopes to be able to recommend appointments for the two positions posi-tions at the first meeting of the Council In June, scheduled for Thursday, June 3. He states, however, how-ever, that he will welcome applications ap-plications for the position of treasurer until the appointment Is filled. He also points out that Miss Vernie Anderson, who has been working as an assistant to Mr. Bcterson while attending the Branch Agricultural college, Is also leaving and a new assistant assist-ant will have to be named. Applications Ap-plications for this position will also be welcomed by Mayor Parry. Mr. Sargent will take over his duties with the Deposit Insurance Insur-ance Corporation on June 15, and will make his headquarters In Salt Lake City. |
