Show Approve New Juvenile Court In Southern Utah A change in the Juvenile court set-up in southern Utah has been approved and will be put Into effect as soon as probation officers can be appointed for the various areas, Juvenile Judge S. R. Bossard of Mantl, announces. Mr. Bossard will continue to be in charge of the district, and will name probation officers for the various areas of the district. Instead of having one officer serving Iron, Kane and Washington Wash-ington counties, as has been in the past, Iron and Beaver county coun-ty have been placed in one division divi-sion and a probation officer will I be named to serve in the two counties. Mr. Bossard states that Cedar City may cooperate In meeting the salary of the officer of-ficer for this area, and thus utilize util-ize his extra time for city activities. activ-ities. Mr. Bossard is anxious that the newly appointed officer make his headquarters at Cedar City, since the greatest population popula-tion is here. He states that a base salary of $180.00 per month will be paid, and suggests that anyone terested In and capable of handling hand-ling the poslUon contact him at Mantl or contact Mayor Gronway Gron-way R. Parry at Cedar City. As In the past the probation office will be authorized to penalize pen-alize only individuals Involved In minor violations. All major violators will be brought before Judge Bossard for hearing. |
