Show Secretary Urged To Grant Franchise To Utah Parks Go. Warren H. Bulloch, president of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement after the announcement announce-ment this week that the Union Pacific Railroad company contemplates con-templates withdrawing from the National Parks of this area at the close of 1948: "We note with alarm the announcement an-nouncement that the Union Pacific is set to quit the Parks in Utah and Arizona. "We feel that this would be a very serious mistake after their efficient handling of this operation for the past 25 years. "As a Chamber of Commerce in Cedar City we certainly urge that Secretary Krug give this matter serious consideration so that the Utah Parks Company may be given the franchlze so that they can make their expansion. ex-pansion. That they have been anxious to make for the past several years. "The proper operation of these parks means a great deal to all, Utah, particularly so the southern part of the state. "The development of the south has been closely tied in with the efficient operation of these parks, under officials of the Union Pacific and the Utah Parks Company as being headed head-ed by Mr. Pat Rogers. |
