Show 6. A. C. Hoopmen Take 2 of 3 Practice Games With Coast Teams The Branch Agricultural college col-lege basketball team won two of three practice games played here this week against strong Califor. nla teams, and local fans are convinced that the Bronco squad will be a definite threat at least for the southern division championship cham-pionship this year. The three games proved that the Broncos are suffering from inexperience, . but convinced the fans that Coach Ray Lindquist has an abundance of promising material if he can Just find the right combination and in doing so devejop a scoring punch. Three players from last year's squad, who had very little opportunity op-portunity to show what they could do, are looking good this year, and there are at least a dozen freshmen on the squad that should develop into tip top performers and be able to carry their share of the load. Friday nightt heB roncos lost to Compton college by a score of 64 to 51, but in this game the green Broncos were up against an experienced team that was one of the smoothest working aggregations ag-gregations to appear on the local floor in a long time. Saturday night the local team trimmed. Visalia Junior college by a score of 52 to 4G, in a game that was dominated by the Bron- cos much more than the score would indicate. Visalia held a brief two-point lead in the first half but soon fell behind again and never really threatened thereafter. Tuesday night the Broncos took the measure of Los Angeles City College by a score of 51 to 49. The game was won in the last four seconds of play on a tip-in shot by lanky Max Bond, but the local players had been way off in their shooting. With any reasonable rea-sonable luck on their shooting the Broncos should have won with comparative ease.
