Show Santa loins Elks For Special Children's Party Jolly old Santa Claus will be in Cedar City Saturday afternoon December 21 to say hello to all of the little boys and girls under un-der M-years of age who attend the free movies being given by the local Elks lodge, No. 1556. at both the Cedar and Tarks theatres. thea-tres. Santa sent word to the Elks this week that he would be on hand Saturday and would have presents for all of the youngsters who attend the shows. The shows will begin at 2:30 p. m. and will include many cartoons and comedies. Since Santa has been extra busy this year, the local Elks lodge is helping him out by donating do-nating all of the presents which will be given to the boys and girls at the show. Some children may be sick in bed on that day, so Santa has made arrangements to visit these children in the evening, if they have their parents call the Elks lodge at 431. Last year, around 1,400 children child-ren were on hand to see Santa Claus, and a large turnout is expected again this year. Ar-rangements Ar-rangements for the activities are under the direction of Millard Wntson. In addition to the free children's child-ren's show, the Elks lodge is preparing pre-paring baskets of food and clothing cloth-ing to be distributed to needy families in this area. Residents of the Parowan Rest Home will also receive Christmas presents from the local lodge. |
