Show Non-Taxpayers May Vote on Power Because of misunderstandings on the part of those qualified to vote in the coming revenue bond election December 30, Orville Isom, city attorney, issued a statement this week announcing that you do NOT have to be a taxpayer to vote. He stated that the reason for this is that the measure is a revenue bond election and the bonds are payable only from the revenues to be derived from the power company. All registered voters may vote, the same as in any municipal election, according to Mr. Isom. However, he said that taxpayers taxpay-ers will be furnished two ballots. One is the ballot on which every, one votes; the other is a supplemental supple-mental proposition required by the bond houses and which only the taxpayers may vote upon. He emphasized that you don't have to be real property taxpayers to vote. Anyone who pays a tax on a car or other personal property is eligible. |
