Show Local Scouts Plan Tribal Program For Deseret District Scouts from the Deseret District Dis-trict will see authentic Indian rituals and dances on January 10, when the Powder Horn Explorers Ex-plorers from Cedar, present a special tribal program in Delta that evening. Featured on the program will the "Eagle" dance which will be performed by LaVon Martineau, Powder Horn Explorer, and Wilbur Wil-bur Bushead, local Piute Indian. Another feature number will be the "Grass" dance in which all of the members of the Powder Pow-der Horn Explorer Post will take part. Chanting and drumming for the dances will be done by Ed-rick Ed-rick Bushead, a brother of Wilbur and director of the Explorer Post Indian activities. All of the Indian costumes have been made by the members mem-bers of the Post with as much authenticity as possible. The elaborate outfits include drums, war clubs, headdress, spears, shields, bows and arrows. Post advisor for the Powder Horn Explorers is William Weber, Cedar City. |
