Show If SCHOOL IKt? By Lucille Roberta Students Place In Speech Meet By taking first places at the Regional Meet at Milford last Saturday. Sat-urday. Charlotte Heap, Wesley House. Anne Ashcroft, and Blaine Tueller won the right to compete In the State Speech Meet at the University of Utah on April 12-13. Four counties Iron, Washington, Mlllird, and Beaver were represented repre-sented at the Meet in Milford. Charlotte Heap won iirst place with her original oration: '"The Negro Deserves a Break." Wesley House won first in both rounds of the extemporaneous division. He spoke first on "To What Extent Do Relations between the Big Three Affect the United Nations Organization Organi-zation ' His second spetch was 'How Would the Removal of Price Controls Affect Production?" Anne Ashcroft and Blaine Tueller were selected from the Cedar City panel on labor problems. They will participate in a flmilar panel in Salt Lake. The whole Cedar City wnel composed of Anne Ashcroft, Blaine Tueller, Gordon Bethers iiid Marian Bradshaw were complimented compli-mented by the Judge, Mr. Williams from Milford, for their complete md well-organized presentation of he labor situation. Both of Parowan's debate teams nnsli ting of Ralph Benson, June Decker, Anna Robinson, and Carey Ward won the right to compete In he state debate finals. JC JL M IT -V Girls to Participate In Posture Parade Thirty-six girls from the Cedar "My High School Girls' Athletic ssoclatlon will participate In a posture parade, April 13, at Hur- Icane, Utah, Teams from schools n Nevada, Arizona, and Southern Utah will be represented at the treet. A plaque will be awarded to he group with the best posture.
