Representatives of the Parowan Exchange Club, including R. L. Fen-ton, Fen-ton, Arthur Joseph, and E. Ray Lyman, met with the Board concerning con-cerning road Improvements in Little Lit-tle Creek Canyon. They asked that the road be built from Paragonah' to connect with the road built by Garfield county near Little Creek peak, explaining that the present road from the Horse Valley Junclon through Bear Valley was Impassable during wet weather and at this time of the year, and that there was much need for such a road. It was explained that at present supplies such as lumber, cattle, and farm produce must be transported from highway 89 either by way of the Zlon-Mt. Carmel tunnel, or around through Clear Creek canyon, thus Increasing the costs in time and S money. A through road via Little Creek canyon would greatly benefit bene-fit Iron and Garfield counties, it was felt, and would aid in getting materials from that side of the mounaln that are now needed for national defense. H. C. Parcells was appointed precinct pre-cinct Justice of the Peace for Parowan Par-owan to fill the vacancy caused by the appointment of Ray H. Adams deputy sheriff. In connection with a request from Beaver County concerning certain work to be done on the Minersville road, the clerk was instructed to write the Beaver County Commissioners Commis-sioners to the effect that Iron county coun-ty would do some work there later in the season, and that they would meet with the Beaver group sometime some-time in January to discuss details. At the request of Dr. J. J. Jenkins Jen-kins and Mrs. Erma M. Ranson the commission changed its appropriation ap-propriation for the malnntenance of a county nurse, and the laboratory labora-tory at the Iron County hospital, from $450 to $600 for 1942. It was also decided that the county would continue to be one of the sponsors of the nursery schools in Parowan and Cedar City and an appropriation appropria-tion of $18 per month for the maln-enance maln-enance of the schools during 1942 was approved.
