Show American Legion Studies Labor And Defense Programs Reports on the labor and industrial indus-trial situation in Utah were given by Post Comander Elias Leigh at a special meeting oft he Cedar City Post of the American Legion held Monday evening, December 15. Commander Com-mander Leigh quoted from several letters from the state office in which it was stated that American Legion organizations throughout the state were being called upon to take the lead In labor surveys as well as the local defense program. A report of Cedar City's home guard was given by Commander Lehi M. Jones, the report indicating indicat-ing that the guard was lully organized or-ganized and holding regular weekly meetings and drills. Mr. Jones stated stat-ed the men were turning out In larger numbers than had been expected ex-pected and were showing deep interest in-terest in the program. Iron County Sheriff S. C. Lamb was named as chairman of the Legion's labor committee, with Earl Urle as assistant. All legionaires are urged to 'register 're-gister with Mr. Lamb or Mr. Urie immediately so that when Jobs are found the men may be placed without with-out unnecessary delay. Commander Leigh urged all legionaires le-gionaires to keep on the alert and report any suspicious actions, especially espec-ially those of strangers, in the southern part of the state. |
