Show ; Correspondence , ' PAROWAN Gravel Day In Parowan. Wednesday, March 8th, was Gravel Day In Parowan, nnd there was cer-.. cer-.. talnly something doing. Promptly at 8 o'clock a. m. 75 teams and two hundred hun-dred five men, were on the job. One thousand, sixty-one loads of gravel rt ' were hauled, covering a mile of street, - JBl from fence to fence. Main street and F some of the adjacent streets were thoroughly covered jvith gravel. A prize was offered for the man hauling the greatest number of loads during the day, and was won by M. M. Decker, Deck-er, who had twenty-eight loads to his credit. Thursday men were busy lev-cling lev-cling and grading the strcts. Mrs. Hattie R. Dougall was called to Beaver Thursday morning to attend ( her daughter Marie, who is suffering from a severe attack of stomach trouble. ' , People In Mass Meeting. Another mass meeting was held - here Monday night, to discuss the subject of turning over the city park to the school district for school purposes. pur-poses. There were more than. 200 tax , payers present. After some discussion, it was moved and carried that we petition the Parowan Par-owan city council to deed over the public park to the Iron County School ' district, to be used as a unit for school purposes in this city, with the following follow-ing reservations: 1. In the event of any other attempted at-tempted use it shall revert back to the city. 2.
