Show THE outcome of the Grass Valley reservoir project, by which it is expected ex-pected to supply water for tho large valley of splendid land at Newcastle, owned by the Newcastle Reclamation company, will be watched this year with a great deal of interest by the people of southern Utah. This is a project which included the driving of a tunnel through the mountain for more than a mile, the construction of a large reservoir dam, the making of many miles of canal and some gigantic gigan-tic cuts and fills. This is the first season sea-son that the reservoir has been put to use, and as yet there is little or nq water in tho lake, the moisture being in the form of snow and ice in the mountains. If this project proves suuecessful the future of tho town of Newcastle, as well as of the company that is behind the uundertaking, will be assured. If this reservoir project should fail, its effects would doubtless bo quito disastrous to the company, as well as to the entire undertaking. It is certainly hoped that tho fullest expectations of the engineers and the directors of the company will be rca lized. |
