The net sum available from tho bond issue is a-bout a-bout $46,000, leaving a deficit of, so far as now known, of about ?0,8C5, which willno doubt be increased somewhat 'by the time the buildinp is completed. Under the action of tho citizens in mass meeting, seven or eight thousand dollars more may bo used for the completion of tho building in accordance with the original orig-inal plans and specifications. While tho school board would much rather have seen the contract go to a local bidder, yet under tho circumstances circum-stances they feel that it would have been an act of bad faith, after soliciting so-liciting proposals from outside contractors con-tractors to havo done otherwise than award the contract to tho lowest responsible re-sponsible bidders. They aro assured that all the team work, most of the carpenter work, and such other labor la-bor as enn be profitably employed locally lo-cally will bo used. It is understood that Mr. Burton has all his paraphernalia required in the construction work now at Milford, where he is just completing a building build-ing for tho Beaver County High School, and this equipment will bo moved here in the very early future and tho work prosecuted as energetically energetic-ally as pdssible, with a view to having hav-ing tho building ready for tho opening of school next September. |
