After the completion of the organization organi-zation the following communication, which is self-explanatory, was taken up, discussed and referred to the committee com-mittee on Commerce. I have before me a letter written by you under date of March sixth to the Hon. William Seegmiller with reference to the building of a t railroad from Lund to Cedar City. It Jam '' '" ' ' '" T mni- It will probably take a ytfar to construct con-struct the rond and subscriptions to bonds can bo paid in installments during dur-ing the construction. Subscriptions to $75,000.00 of bonds at par would be entitled to 25 per cent of the capital stork without charge for the stock and if there are seven directors in tho corporation, your community should have thrco and tho operating headquarters should bo at Cedar City. The bonds should bear six per cent and tho time ten years. From this end of the lino we will furnish the rail, fifty per cent of tho ties and do tho grading, but it will tnko all of $75,000 to pay for the other oth-er half on ties, freight on ties, freight on rails and laying track. Subscriptions to bonds must bo guaranteed, but no money is to be paid till wo guarantee to fulfill our part. If this letter is not clear, come back for further information. Inasmuch as Mr. Dalloy, president Cedar Commercial Club, has had this miller, I will mail him copy of this let-mutter let-mutter presented to him by Mr. Sceg-tor. Sceg-tor. If after consulting with some of the people you feel that they might come along on the plan proposed herein, please advise and some of us will visit Cedar City and talk it over. The next matter to receive attention atten-tion was the question of the clean town contest that will be on again this summer, and a number of improvements im-provements were discussed, among others the garbage question. It seemed to be the opinion of those present that some person should be employed regularly to remove the garbage from tho premises, which should be deposited in suitable re-rceptack-B for holding same until it is called for. The matter of the clean town contest con-test was referred to tho committee on City Affairs. Gravel Haulers' Dance. The matter of the dance promised to thoso who took part in the gravel hauling bee just prior to the Roundup Round-up camo up for consideration, and was referred to the House committee to make the necessary arrangements, A number of the boys are holding tick-ets, tick-ets, given out by the previous administration admin-istration of the club, and it is proposed pro-posed to redeem theso according to promise in the near future. Melting of Development League. The matter of representation at the meeting of the Utah Development League to be held at Salt Lake City April 7th was considered, und it was decided to arrange to have two representatives rep-resentatives in attendance. Frank B. Wood has been selected as ono of the delegates and President Dalley is vested vest-ed with authority to make the other appointment when he finds the proper prop-er person, who can conveniently go. |
