Show STATE CONVICTS TO COMPLETE HIGHWAY Forty of the Veterans to Work on the Road from Gould's to Arizona Line, Say Kanab Men. D. D. Rust and Bert Woolloy of Kanab were in Cedar City today en route home from Salt Lake City, where they have been for the purpose of soliciting the further aid of the State convicts in tho completion of the State and Grand Canyon highway to the Arizona line, and also to purchase automobiles for the establishment of a tourist line from Cedar City or perhaps per-haps Lund to the Grand Canyon and return. They report that their labors met with success and that they have tho promise that the convict camp will be divided and that about forty of tho experienced road men will be employed em-ployed on the road from Gould's to tho Utah-Arizona line. Now, if the State of Arizona takes care of its portion por-tion of tho highway, it will be ready according to program for the opening of touriBt travel June first. Tho remainder of the convicts will bo sent to the northern part of tho state, where they have been promised on road improvements. Messrs. Rust and Woolley continue their journey towards Kanab this afternoon. |
