I would say that nothing could I have been more satisfactory than the trip which 1 recently made through the I west. Your Mr. Cooper, in Portland, to I whom you so kindly referred me, did ! more than I could have imagined, and I through him all sorts of courtesies were extended to us by the railroads which carried us on our homeward trip. In manv instances, we found that your I thoughtfulness had either preceded or was following us, and I have only to assure you of my sentiments of most sincere gratitude. What you foretold of the beauty and interest of the journey jour-ney was fully verified, and I am truly glad to have had the opportunity of making the trip.
