Show The celebration of Bunker Hill day f ! was marked by the usual displays and festivities in Charleston. The American-Irish Historical society observed the- day by holding exercises at Win-throp Win-throp Sauare, Charlestown, at noon, and a banquet in the evening at the United States hotel. At Winthrop square a beautiful wreath was -placed" upon the memorial tablet in honor of the revolutionary soldiers of Irish birth who lost their lives at the battle ! of Bunker Hill. An oration was deliv- i ered by Thomas F. O'Malley of Somer- . ville. Colonel LInehan of Concord. N. "i H., was the orator in the evening, tak- ing for his subject "The Irish In the f Patriot RanRs at the Battle of Bunker S Hill." He said the founder of the I American navy was an Irishman, Com- f modore John Barry, and Vice Admiral Stephen C. Rowan was also Irish.
