Show OGDEN ITEMS. June's Spiritual Dawn. (Special Correspondence.) A wave of summer brightness has swept over the opening days of June, and a wave of spiritual gladness has swept over St. Joseph's congregation. By a happy coincidence the lovely month dedicated to the Sacred Heart was ushered in this year by the beautiful beau-tiful feast of our Lord's Ascension, and the day was celebrated at St. Joseph's in the manner most befitting the great festival of the church. The next day was rendered sacred by the usual first Friday devotions, when many devout -souls pledged their fidelity fidel-ity anew to the heart of their Eucharls-tie Eucharls-tie king. But the crowning day of the dawn was Sunday, and truly inspiring was the scene presented by the Children of Mary when more than seventy of their number presented themselves in a body to receive the bread of life. Rev. P. M. Cushnahan expressed his gratification at the large number of communicants. pfe then spoke in a forcible manner on devotion to the Sacred Sa-cred Heart, and made an urgent appeal ap-peal to the members of the league to live up to the spirit of the organization organiza-tion and to become apostles in spreading spread-ing the sublime devotion to the Sacred Heart of our Lord in the sacrament of his love. Dancing in the pavilion formed one of the most pleasant diversions of the day, while not a few found their delight in the more exhllerating pastime of bowling. The new saucer track was a. source of great wonderment, as it Was the first time (he novel feat of racing on a continuously curving Inclined plane had been witnessed by many of the jubilant si-jlit-seers.
