The object of the gathering was to stimulate interest -in the growth and advance of the Leadville lodge. IRISH CONCERT ENJOYED., Madame Rcsa D'Erina and G. Tt-Von Tt-Von torn, popularly, known as the Irish Nightingales, were heard in concert at the church of St. Francis de Sales in South Denver last Sunday evening. A large and appreciative audience was gathered!, and the programme consisted entirely of classical and humorous Irish songs, which were well rendered Madame D'Erina prefaced her concert with a brief lecture and Mr. Yontoni's great hit was his singing, of "The Minstrel Min-strel Hoy." This latter selection was roundly applauded. Of all the commencement exercises in preparation for next week, none is of greater interest than those which will mark the close of the year for the Immaculate Conception High school. Three.young people will graduate at the eighth annual commencement, which will take place Wednesday evening, JuneM. at X o'clock. Miss Marie Agnes Frederie, Miss Angela Alexandrine Sherrer and Raymound Philip Hiekey will receive their diplomas. The graduating gradu-ating essays will be interspersed with music and selections of a high order. The school takes special pride in the high standard of its music department and this feature of the exercises will be of wide interest. On Thursday evening, June 15, the annual banquet of the Immaculate Conception Con-ception Alumni association will be given in the music hall of the school. 'There are a number of former graduates gradu-ates whose absence from the city will cause a vacancy at the banquet board, so that in all there will be only twenty-five twenty-five covers laid. The guests of the evening- will be Rev. Father P. A. Phil-hps Phil-hps and Rev. Father M. W. Donovan and the three members of the class of 1!C5, who will graduate the preceding evening. Miss Marie Shedy, daughter of Mr. Dennis Sheedy of the cathedral parish, is home from school for the summer holidays'. Rev. Father Phillips returns this week from his trip to the northwest. PERSONAL. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. McKenna of 1065 Josephine street are rejoicing over the hirth of a little daughter. - Judge Lindsey has promised to address ad-dress the next meeting of the Queen's Daughters to tell the members further fur-ther how they can help out the plan to send the boys of the juvenile court to the country during the hot months. It is the hop- of Judge Lindsay to send his boys in relays for ten days each to the mountains. ' . The Feast of the Ascension was observed ob-served with appropriate ceremony. last Thursday. Special Spe-cial services in honor of the Holy Ghost are being held. At the meeting of the Alumni association asso-ciation of the Immaculate Conception High school, held recently, a resolution resolu-tion of sympathy for Sister Mary Carlos Car-los was drafted and sent to her. Sister Sis-ter Mary Carlos is very ill and her absence ab-sence from the meeting was the inspiration inspi-ration for the resolutions. - Miss Lillian Ryan, who has been absent ab-sent for more than two years, reurned from California during the week. H;r sojourn on the coast did her an amount of good and she returns much bene-lied bene-lied in health. The children of the Sacred Heart school received their First Holy Communion Com-munion at the church on. the Feast of the .Ascension. There was a large class. -f- The most successful, social tea of the year was that at which the members of the Sacred Heart Aid society were hostesses last Thursday afternoon. The reception was given at the home of Mrs. Joseph Osner, 357 Broadway, from 2 to 5 o'clock, and during that time a musical programme was given and refreshments were served. The spacious home of Mrs. Osner was attractively at-tractively decorated in red and white, the colors of the society. The guests were r.ceived by Mrs. Osner. Mrs. John Hubbard. Mrs. Henry Abel. Mrs. J. H. Butterfield. Mrs. Charles W. Allen. Al-len. Miss Kate Flahery and Miss Irene Abel. Each guest made an offering for the work of the Aid society, and in consequence the treasury received a neat addition. A splendid programme of music and recitations was given under un-der the direction of Mrs. W. A. Grange Gran-ge r, chairman of the entertainment committee. Dainty refreshments were served from prettily decorated tables in the dining room. Mesdames Felix O'Neil. H. A. Ryer, Otto Keterson, J. P. Healey and J. P. Fleisch served the ices. A report of the receipts from the tea will be made at the next meeting. Miss Nellie O'Farrell is so far recovered re-covered as to have left the hospital. Sh? is at present the guest of Mrs. Harrington of Clarkson fitreet, where she will rerijain for some time. His zeal never wearies and the results of his labor ars manifest on every hand. Those familiar with the parish, or father the place where the parish now is, five years ago would find it I hard to realize the changes wrought in this short time by his patient, persistent per-sistent effort. Yet there, stands the pretty church, the comfortable parochial paro-chial residence and an earnest, active congregation to support them. Globeville Globe-ville was certainly a neglected vineyard, vine-yard, and Rev. Father Jarjynski sur:-Iy merits the "well done" of the Master Mas-ter for the good work he has accomplished. accom-plished. Rev. C. O'Farrell has gone to the Gunnison country to give a mission.
