Show BUTTE. Miss Gencvive Nolan received a surprise sur-prise Tuesday evening of last week when a number of friends gathered at her home, 420 Chestnut street. The evening was passed at games and instrumental in-strumental and vocal music. The funeral of Mrs. Ada Vaughan Stephens, wife of Gallon P. Stephens, who died Monday, was held Wednesday at 9 o'clock in the cathedral of the Sacred Sa-cred Heart, Helena. Services at the cathedral were conducted by the Rev. Victor Day. and the service at the cemetery cem-etery by the Rev. S. J. Sullivan. The interment was in the Benton avenue cemetery. A dispatch received at the House of the Good Shepherd Wednesday afternoon after-noon brought the announcement of the death of Mother Mary of Saint Marine, mother general of the Good Shepherd order. Her death occurred at Angers, France, where the mother house of the order is located. Mother Mary, whose family name was Vierger, was about 84 years of age, and had been at the head of the order for about fourteen years. |
