Show Is Here For Ordination. M. J. Venus, who was recently graduated grad-uated from the St. Paul theological seminary, came to Helena last week preparatory to his ordination to the priesthood next Sunday. Mr. Venus was adopted for the diocese of Helena by the late Bishop Brondel, upon the request of Bishop - Carroll, who was then president of St. Joseph's college at Dubuque, of which institution the candidate was a student for a time. The new priest was to be ordained at St. Paul next week, but made the request that he be permitted to be the first priest ordained by Bishop Carroll, and the request was granted. Saturday at the cathedral of the Sacred Heart he will be ordained deacon, dea-con, and on Sunday at pontifical high mass at 10:20 o'clock he will be or-dained or-dained priest. Bishop Carroll will offl- j ciate, assisted by the Revs. Victor Day, S. J. Sullivan and Daniel Foley. The assistance of three priests is required re-quired at the ordination, and as it is necessary for one of the three Helena priests to conduct services at Clancy on Sunday. Father Foley will go to that town Saturday night, say mass at i 7 o'clock Sunday morning and drive to Helena in time for ordination ser- . vices. |
