Show CATHEDRAL NOTES. : The members of the Altar society of St. Mary's cathedral will have a "rummage "rum-mage sale" on Saturday, Oct. 23. at the . old St. Mark's schoolhouse, 115 East First South street. The sale will be-jein be-jein promptly at 9 a. m., and will last all day. Rev. John Ryan of Ogden was in the city during the week. Bishop Scanlan Returns. Bishop Scanlan will be home Sunday from Chicago, where he went to purchase pur-chase vestments for the clergy to officiate of-ficiate at the dedication of the new Catholic cathedral. Supervising Architect. R O. Mecklenburg has been appointed appoint-ed supervising architect of the new Catholic cathedral, in place of the late C. M. Neuhausen. The Feast of Blessed Margaret Mary iwas fittingly celebrated at the cathedral cathe-dral on Thursday when many devout clients of the Sacred Heart attended mas and received Holy Communion. Sunday. Oct 20. will be Communion day for the members of the Altar society so-ciety of the cathedral, and all are expected ex-pected to attend the 9 o'clock mass In a body. , Rehearsal for the Junior choir is held I every Saturday at 3:30 and at 4:15. I Rehearsal for the members of the St. Cecilia chorus Is held every Sunday morning at 9:30. I The members of the Cathedral choir have rehearsal every Friday night at Miss Glea-son's studio, at 115 East First South. On Monday night the male members of the choir have a special rehearsal !" at 8 o'clock at the same place. Services will be held at the penitentiary peniten-tiary next Sunday, t One week from Sunday. Miss Clowes, I Mrs. Hamer and J. J. Burke will sing I the "Ave Maria," by Owens, for the 1 offertory. I Mrs. M. E. Mulvey and Mrs. P. L. Gleason are the women appointed to attend to the altars this week. J. W. Curtis will sing an "Ave Maria" Ma-ria" by Luzzl, at St. Mary's on Sunday. Sun-day. James J. Burke, a well known Irish tenor, sang the offertory solo at the cathedral last Sundaf. Mr. Burke has a beautiful voice, which highly pleased , the large congregation.
