St. Vincent's Aid Society. j At the last meeting of St. Vincent's ! Orphans' Aid society the question of :t the establishment of a nursery was in- i troduced. St. Vincent's is the only I Catholic orphanage in the state which ores for infants, and so from all over 3 Colorado, as well as from Denver, the J : little ones are sent to the beautiful .- and commodious home on Lowell boul- I . evard. It has long been the wish of ' the sisters to build a wing for the -j exclusive use of babies" up to the age ! j of 2 years. Mother Irene, the new su-1 : prrior of St. Joseph's hospital, heartily approves of the nursery, but wisely I thinks it should be built in the city so I the services of the hospital physicians I could be procured whenever necessary. Probably in the very near future some I of the ground surrounding St. Joseph's 1 j hospital on Humboldt street will be 1 ! given over for the babies and a build- I ' ' ing commenced out of the proceeds of I ,' the annual ball on New Year's. Queen of Heaven Aid Society. The Queen of Heaven association held an enthusiastic meeting Tuesday afternoon. Oct. 15. with Mrs. J. H. Butterfield. 19l4 East Twenty-second avenue. Many plans were formulated for making the orphans comfortable dur:ng the winter now setting in. The aim of this association is to look after the sisters and their little charges -in Regina Coeli orphanage. |
