Show Obituary. Denver lost another of her old-time and highly respected citizens when Daniel Griffin was called to his reward at the ripe old age of SS years. Mr. Griffin had been ill a very long time of a complication of diseases attending old age. but his mental qualities remained re-mained keen and clear to the last. Deceased De-ceased was born in County Limerick, Ireland, Feb. 10, 1S19. and was a true Irishman of the old school, retaining his interest in Irish politics and national na-tional affairs until death. Twelve years ago, after the death of his wife, he came to make his home with his only surviving daughter, Mrs. James Maloney, at 271 Elati street, and there spent his declining years amid all the comforts that love could provide. His funeral occurred Wednesday, Oct. 9, with requiem mass at St. Joseph's church, which was filled with sorrowing sorrow-ing friends. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cal-vary cemetery. Mrs. Julia Smith died on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the family home. 620 Twenty- seventh street. Deceased vas the wife of Edward L. Smith, and had resided in Denver many years. Her funeral was held Friday morning from Sacred Heart church, and was attended by several fraternal societies. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Besides her husband and one son, Mrs. Smith is survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Katherine Williams, and four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Smith, Mrs. James To-bin. To-bin. Mrs. W. F. Castle and Mrs. F. C. Biebon, all of whom reside in Denver. The funeral of Jeremiah Murray, who died last week in St. Joseph's hospital, hos-pital, was held Friday afternoon, Oct. 11, from St. Leo's church. Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. I Mrs. Mary Howard of 1601 Thirty-eighth Thirty-eighth street died at Mercy hospital on Friday, Oct. 11. and was buried Sunday Sun-day afternoon in Mount Olivet cemetery. ceme-tery. Funeral service was read in the Church of the Annunciation, of which Mrs. Howard had been one of the earliest ear-liest attendants. Two daughters survive sur-vive her. The funeral of George L. Kistler of 1150 Stout street was held Sunday morning, Oct. 13, from St. Elizabeth's church. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. |
