Uishop Hrondel, the Holy Father Fa-ther received him in private audience und while commending the good work accomplished in the great Northwest, granted a special blessing to the 'Parochial 'Pa-rochial pupils in which Father De Seire i showed such a decided and fatherly interest. The letter gives a detailed i , description of the ceremony of open- i ing the Holy Door, by the Pope, at ', which r.O.oou persons of all nationalities ! intended. j On Christmas eve the Sinters of the : school received a very kind letter from Father De Scire, filled with generous 3 sentiment and glowing description. Mrs. Lulu Largey has enriched the art treasures of the school by the gift - of a beautiful statue of the Blessed f Virgin. It will bo placed in the front hall with the historic photographic col lection recently donated by Mr. J. H. Leyson. "Written examinations have been go-' go-' ing on steadily during the past week, two branches being given each day. The average required for promotion in he intermediate and grammar grades j is mi iter cent and for the High school grade !() per cent.
