Show OLDEST CATHOLIC PRELATE. Archbishop Colean of Madras is now the oldest Catholic prelate. He was born at Donore, County Westmeath. April 1. 1S24; the next oldest prelate is Bishop Cameron, born at St. Andrews, Antigon-ish Antigon-ish county, Nova Scotia, on February 16. 1827. Archbishop Colgan landed in India in 1844, and Bishop Cameron entered the College of Propaganda, Propagan-da, Rome, in the same year. Dr. Colgan exebanged his title of bishop of Aureliopolis for that of Archbishop Arch-bishop of Madras in 1856, the year in which Dr. Cameron exchanged his title of bishop of Arichat for that of bishop of Antigonish. |
