Show GOOD ROADS LEAGUE IS ORGANIZED The Idiiho Good Roads Federa tion has recently been organized to insure the ratification by the voters on November 5 of House Joint Resolution number 3, known as the "Good Roads Amendment" to the constitution, which would prohibit the diversion of gasoline taxes and auto license fees. Both major parties have endorsed en-dorsed the amendment and several sever-al organizations including the State Grange, Farmers' Union, County. Assessors, Geenral Contractors, Contrac-tors, Automobile Dealers, Truckers' association, Oil Industry, and Idaho Ida-ho Automobile association are actively ac-tively supporting it. In making public its stand, the federation declared that adoption of the amendment was the only certain protection against the raiding of road revenues in the future, and departure from the state's present wise policy of using special highway taxes for highways only would, discriminate unfairly against the motor vehicle taxpayer and would be detrimental to the continued Improvement of the state's system. In an interview of R. H. Wells second vice-president, he said it was the duty of all public minded citizens to go to the polls on el.ec- tion day and vote YES for H.J.R. 3, the amendment which will protect pro-tect Idaho's highw-ay system and guarantee the continued improvement improve-ment of farm to market, mines and forest to market roads. |
