Show Dworshak Is Speaker At G.O.P. Rally TOM HEATH GIVES CLOSING REMARKS Large Audience Hears Speakers At High School Auditorium Confining the major share of his remarks to a report on national legislation as handled in congress the past session, Representative Henry Dworshak, Republican candidate can-didate for re-election, appeared here last Saturday evening before a large audience at the high school auditorium. The second! district congressman discussed farm legislation, defense appropriation bills, and the recent conscription act at considerable length, and later answered questions ques-tions from the audience at the close of his talk. He attacked with vigor opponent's oppon-ent's comparisons of farm prices in 1932 with those of 1940, pointing out that it was 'unfair to compare any single period without taking an average of a number of years." He stated that the 12 Republican years prior to 1932 showed an average better price for farm produce than did the past seven years of New Deal. In response to several queries from the floor regarding his stand on the conscription bill, Dworshak pointed out that the entire Idaho delegation was in accord on opposing op-posing the bill. Reasons lie gave were that he was in favor of a period of voluntary conscription before enacting the present law. He charged the administration with the failure to instigate a patriotic pa-triotic campaign to enlist enough volunteers to fill the peace-time needs of the army. County Chairman Wayne Evans presided at the meeting and1 following fol-lowing the introduction of the Republican Re-publican county canufuatea and a! short musical program, introduced Mr. Dworshak.
