Show POPULAR. COUPLE WED IN LOGAN TEMPLE The marriage of Glenn Petterborg, Petter-borg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Petterborg, and Miss Sliva Hatch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaMoyne Hatch, of Victor, Idaho, was solemnized sol-emnized in the Logan LDS temple last' Friday. Followng the ceremony cere-mony they left for Salt Lake for a brief honeymoon. They will make their home in Preston. In honor ot Miss Hatch a miscellaneous mis-cellaneous shower was given by Mrs. Elaine Petterborg at the home of Mrs. Carmen Winn. Fourteen young lady friends of the bride-elect bride-elect attended and she received many lovely gifts. The groom's prents entertained twenty-four young friends of the young couple at a dinner and an evening of sociability the previous Wednesday evening. ENTERTAIN VOLUNTEER RED CROSS KNITTERS Mrs. Amy Hogge entertained several Red Cross knitters at her home last Wednesday afternoon. Most of the ladies are learning to knit and are doing sweaters for the December Red Cross assignment. assign-ment. Anyone who would care to do this work contact Mrs. A. C. Conine. Mrs. Vera Merrill entertained enter-tained the same group the preceding preced-ing week. HOSTESS TO HOBBY CLUB ON MONDAY Miss Lucille Woodruff was hostess host-ess to the Hobby club last Monday evening at the home of Mrs. George Burgi. The time was spent sewing sew-ing and in genial conversation. A dainty luncheon was served. Miss Olive Greaves and Miss Edna Eames, former members, were special spe-cial guests. , Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Foss spent several days of this week in Salt Lake on business. SYUINGA CAMP HOLDS FIRST SEASON MEETING Syriugn camp of the Daughters of the Pioneers held their first meeting of the season at the home of Mrs. Vera Merrill. A large crowd was in attendance. Miss Beverley Nielson entertained with a piano solo and Mrs. Merrill and Mrs. Enid Fryer sang two vocal ducts. A sketch of her mother, Mrs. Dora Neeley Geddes, was given by Mrs. Merrill. The lesson was prosenled by Mrs. Adrianne Bock-slead' Bock-slead' on "Pioneer Homes and Houses" with supplementary information in-formation about local homes given by Mrs. Viola Alder. Refreshments carried out with a Hallowe'en motif were served by Mrs. Myrtle Goff, Mrs. Sarah Mon son, Mrs. Nellie Bejckstead and Mrs. Mable Swift. ENTERTAINS BOO MALIE CLUB Mrs. Grace Packard entertained the Boo Malie club last Friday evening eve-ning at her home. Bridge was the diversion and the high score prize was awarded to Mrs. Norene Warr and the all-cut to Mrs. La-vinia La-vinia Cutler. Mrs. Doris Butters was a special guest. Mrs. Catherine Foss, Mrs.- Lorraine Lor-raine Foss, Mrs. Donna Hansen, Mrs. Emma McClun and Davd Mc-Clun, Mc-Clun, Jr., spent last Wednesday in Kemmerer, Wyo., the guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Beck. MINK CREEK; SCHEDULES DOUBLE WEDDING DANCE Mr., and Mrs. Leon Bell and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Christensen, newly-weds, newly-weds, will entertain at a double wedding dance on Friday evening, October IS, at the Mink u-eek amusement hall. The public is invited in-vited to attend. Music will be furnished fur-nished by the Hart orchestra. Mrs. Bell was formerly Miss Venice Bright of Linrose and Mrs. Christensen Chris-tensen was Miss Lenna Barrington of Riverdale. Both young couples are making their homes in Mink Creek. FOURTH WARD RELIEF SOCIETY HOLDS SOCIAL One hundred twenty-five moth-erers moth-erers of the Fourth ward attended (he opening social of the Relief Society held recently. A very interesting in-teresting and entertaining program was given. The stunts were under the drection of the various class leaders andl were interspersed with vocal and instrumental music. Mr. and1 Mrs. Lloyd Hogge spent the week-end visiting relatives at Rigby, Idaho. o o FINE ARTS CLUB ENTERTAINED MONDAY The Fine Arts club was entertained enter-tained last Monday " evening by Mrs. Maurine Simmons. Mrs. Oneta Forsgren reviewed "How Green Is My Valley" by Richard Llewellyn. Mrs.. Adeline Forti sang two Welsh songs which were in keeping with the setting for the book. Mrs. Forti and Mrs.. Neeley were special guests. Dainty refreshments were served. M MEN AND GLEANERS HOLD DANCE AND SOCIAL Franklin stake M-Men and Gleaners held a lucky-spot dance and social at the stake amusement hall last Friday evening. An entertaining program and election of stake officers occupied a portion of the time and dancing was the main feature. Those who attended voted it as being one of the best parties held by this group. ENTERTAINS RA ONA CLUB AT DINNER AND BRIDGE The RaOna club was entertained last Friday evening by Mrs. Cleo Swenson. A three-course dinner was served at Paul's cafe and was followed by bridge at the Swenson home. A bowl of roses centered the dinner table. Prizes for bridge were won by Miss Edith Hillstead, high, and Mrs. Marvel Dursteler the alljcut. ENTERTAINS CLUB AT PINOCHLE PARTY Mrs Harold Winn entertained her club at pinochle' last Thursday evening. Luncheon was servel at three small tables with chrysanthemums chrysan-themums and Hallowe'en appointments appoint-ments making a clever decoraton. Prize score went to Mrs.. Dorothy Kendrick. Mrs. William Craner was a special guest. ENTERTAINS BRIDGE CLUB ON THURSDAY Mrs. Clair Mathis entertained her bridge club last Thursdy evening. eve-ning. A profusion of fall flowers graced the rooms. Luncheon was served on small tables to eight. Mrs. A. G. Carlson and Mrs. J. N. Stephens receved the score prizes Mrs. Stephens was a special guest. |
