Show TRAPPING LAWS GIVEN BY GAME COMMISSION Trapping laws relative to fur-bearing fur-bearing and predatory animals were the subject of a release from the Idaho game commission this week in summarizing the 1940 laws. Following is the summary: It shall be unlawful for any per sons to pursue, hunt, trap or Kin beaver at any time of the year, or any mink, raccoon, otter, marten fox, fisher, or muskrat except as hereinafter provided: Mink, raccoon, otter, fox or fish er may be taken during the months of January, February, March, November and December; muskrats may be taken tn Bear Lake and Caribou counties and in Gray's Lake in Bonneville county or within ten rods of 'the edge of the water thereof from April 1 to May 10; and muskrats may be taken elsewhere during the months of November, December, January, February and March; also musk-rats musk-rats may be taken at any time along ditches, canals and reser- voirs, when damaging the same by securing permission from the fish and game department. ' All license-holders must report, under oath, within 90 days after the expiration of the trapping season, sea-son, the number and kind of fur bearing animals caught and killed during the open season and where sold and the amount derived from such sale. Report must be in writing writ-ing and filed in the office of the fish and game department. Any trapper failing to make such re port snau De retused a license lor the ensuing year and shall be guil ty of a misdemeanor. It is unlawful to transport in any manner or have in possession for the purpose of transporting any fur bearing animal for which there is no open season, regardless of whether trapped within or without the state; to use any part of game birds, game fish, or game animals for bait; to injure or kill any fur bearing animals or destroy their houses, dams or other structures erected by them; to disturb or remove re-move the traps of a licensed trapper; trap-per; to keep in captivity any fur-bearing fur-bearing animal without a permit from the fish and game department or to trap any furbearing animal or predatory animals without a license. A violation of any of the above provisions is a misdemeanor, the synopsis states. |
