Show Know The Issues It's now that season of the year when political speeches are on the air, in your newspapers, and in your meeting halls. People are thinking and discussing dis-cussing political issues in short it's the usual ev-ery-other-year campaign. Usual, yes, but unusual in the fact that this is one of the few remaining nations on the globe who can have such a campaign. It's the AMERICAN WAY and we should protect it by exercising our rights - to think and vote as we choose. The only answer to the economic problems that face every community, county, state and our nation is an intelligent study of the issues at stake and the intelligent exercise of our voting privileges on the i same. Know your candidates and what they stand for. It isn't fair to condemn a candidate unless you have heard or read his views, nor is it fair to go to the polls in ignorance of the issues and place an "X" at random. Don't be afraid of political rallies. They're held for the purpose of presenting the candidates and their views to the electorate. Franklin county is fortunate in this respect, for both major parties are bringing practically all the state candidates here for personal appearances. May we urge you to see them, hear them, and then VOTE ON NOVEMBER 5. |
