Show Panguitch Girls Win Again Panguitch High's girls team tightened their grip on the number-one-ranking in the state last week by defeating Milford 74-50. 74-50. Shelly Hatch was at ther best, scoring 22 and dishing off for 10 assists. Alison Yardley was on the receiving end of several sev-eral of those assists and had her best offensive game of the year, banking in 17 points. Lacee Leach had another stellar game and scored 13. Those three seniors, sen-iors, along with Kali Moore, who scored 7 and Laura Boshell, who hit for 4, played their last home game for PHS. In the course of four seasons, these girls have been on teams that have either won outright or tied for the league championship champi-onship every year. They have been members of three state champion teams. Congratulations to them and Coaches Curtis Barney and Scott Christensen. Wayne lost to piute 37-35, leaving Panguitch with a three-game three-game league lead and a virtual game clinch on the league championship. The Bobcats travel to play at Bicknell this week. Esclaante's girls tipped over Bryce Valley 43-21 to keep their hopes alive of hosting a play-in game for the tournament. Jennifer lyman was the top scorer scor-er for both teams with 14 points. Jenny Comp led the Mustangs with 12. The girls team made it a clean sweep for the Moquis over the two teams from West Desert. They won 48-43 to match the boys win. Two wins in the week will give Escalante a boost as the season draws to a close. Ashley Bodily went for 14, Jennifer Lyman 11 and Laura Richmond scored 9 in this close one. |
