Show Winners Announced For 1997 Rodeo Season At Bryce Canyon Rodeo BRYCE The final rodeo ot the 1997 season was held at Ruby's Inn last Saturday evening, with winners of the individual events being announced afterwards. after-wards. The awards were given to participants who had the most points or best times aunng the whole season. First place winners received saddles; second place winners received buckles and third place winners received certificates. In the bull riding category, first place went to Trinity Richards, Tropic; Rex Malolo took second and Clint Butterfield, Kingston, took third. In saddle broncs, Tate Weber, Tropic won first; Kyle Nowers, Panguitch won second and Mike Christensen, Emery, won third. Jimmy Frandsen of Panguitch won first place in the bareback category, with Klancy Ott of Tropic taking second place and Jake Bennett, Tropic took third. Corry Neilson of Tropic took first place in calf riding, along with Josh Dotsoh, Bryce, in second sec-ond and David Mathews, Can-nonville Can-nonville in third place. Chris Roundy of Panguitch took first in mutton busting, with Wyatt Mecham, Tropic, coming in second and Kaden Chynoweth, Henrieville in third place. In barrel racing, Sylvia Foster, Tropic took first; Roxie Roundy, Panguitch took second and Nicole Neilson, Cannonville, took third. In team roping, Kelly Neilson, Tropic, took first; Rick Dotson, Bryce, took second and Mike Christensen, Emery, took third. A special award was given to Jeremiah Boger, Henrieville for participation. He attended 65 of 78 rodeos held this year and was awarded with a protective riding vest. |
