Show You Can Visit A MotorhomeAt ''Open House" PANGUITCH Don't be surprised if during the week of Sept. 8, you see a number of what appears to be futuristic motor homes parading through the streets of Panguitch. A specialized motor home club call GMC Western States is having a rally just a few miles down the road at Ruby's Inn. Approximately 90 to 100 of the motorhomes will be in attendance. The motorhomes were all built during 1973 through 1978 and are now considered "classic" coaches, even though they are quite advanced in their styling. Consequently, the mission of the group, is to keep tnese "old" coaches running and performing at their peak. It is estimated that 7,000 to 8,000 of the coaches area still on the road of the 13,000 that were built. The motorhomes will be coming from as far away as Virginia, Texas, Alberta, and British Columbia, as well as from most of the western states. Residents should feel free to flag the coaches down if they are interested in learning more about them. The motorhome residents have planned to devote much of their time to seeing the Bryce Canyon area. Tropic resident Gayle Pollock will speak on the history and geology of the Bryce Canyon area and Bonnie Miles of Tropic will be giving advanced quilting classes for some of the ladies. The group will be entertained during the evening at the B-Bar-D covered chuckwagon ride and show. The coaches will be staying at the Ruby's Inn Trailer Park on Spet. 13 and local residents are encouraged to visit with the owners, where the "Open Coach" signs will be on display. I |
