Show Garfield County Commission Meets PANGUITCH Garfield County Commissioners Louise Liston, Maloy Dodds and Clare Ramsay, ClerkAuditor Camille Moore and County Engineer Brian Bremner met for a full day of business in a regularly scheduled commission meeting Monday, July 28. Public Works Garbage Collection: Commissioner Commis-sioner Dodds and Brian Bremner, County Engineer, have met with Panguitch City regarding clean-up of the collection sites. The clean up project is currently out for bid. A motion was made to proceed with awarding the bid for clean-up at the collection sites. Road Department Personnel: After reviewing the applications, Bremner recommended hiring Dwight Haycock, Escalante. Land purchase: Bremner reported on the purchase of a 40 acre parcel in John's Valley. The purchase price was $15,100 plus administrative costs. After review of the failure to comply with the terms of the Conditional Use Permit and the threat of litigation from adjoining property owners, a motion was made to recommed that the Planning and Zoning Commission revoke the Conditional Use Permit granted to Frontier Service, owned by Curt Richins, Escalante. Les Barker, County Recorder, gave the Commission information regarding the fee schedule for building permits. Commissioner Dodds stated that he feels the revenue from building permits should cover the expenses of the Building Inspection Department. The Commission will review the information provided by Barker and the issue will be discusses at a later meeting. There was a discussion of payment options for the new school district buildings. A motion was made to negotiate a contract for building inspections on the new school buildings. Greg Pollock, Airport Manager, Mana-ger, was present to discuss the upgrade of a refueling truck. There is discussion of. lease-purchase lease-purchase of a refueling truck through Valley Oil at approximately approxi-mately $650 per month. Pollock informed the Commission that the fuel tanks have been moved and the power has been restored. However, by December 1997, they must be contained. The containment facility must be constructed of concrete or steel. There are also improvements that will be required on the fuel farm. Ross Shelley has provided rough estimates for electrical improvements. improve-ments. A motion was made to give Pollock the authorization to proceed with the containment and improvements to the fuel farm using funds budgeted for the water project in the Municipal Building Authority Budget and also give Pollock authorization to proceed with the leasepurchase of a refueling truck. A letter was received from Monsey and Andrews, the law firm representing Aladdin Air. After discussion, a motion was made to obtain specific allegations allega-tions and if necessary, invite them and their client to make an appointment at a regular Commission Commis-sion meeting. Martin Nay voiced concerns regarding the policy discussed at the last commission meeting regarding food vending at the Garfield County Fair this year. Nay stated that he would like to sell snowcomes and other items at the fair. Scott Tobiason, Panguitch Lake Fire Dept., was also interstsed in providing food at the fair. The commission discussed the subject and scehduled a decision for the next meeting. After review of applications submitted by Mary Martinez and Loretta Fowler, Indian Jewelry Sales, Ramsay made a motion to grant a business license to them. An application was also granted to Ken and Ren Construction, contingent on verification of state licensing requirements being met. A request for funds was received from Western State Coalition. After discussion, a motion was made to donate $500 to the coalition. |
