Show Antimony News From Page 2-A parents and family here visiting at the Rockin' R as she will work until fall and then attend winter quarter of school. Raymond and Roma Henrie of American Fork are here for the long weekend. Cindy Wiley Campbell of Simi Valley, Calif, came to help her mother, Ruth Wiley, get ready for her weading to Ray Pace. Ruth and Ray will spend the winter in Leeds. We are very proud of Laura Peirson, daughter of former Antimony Anti-mony resident, Darlene Roberts Pierson bvans, as she was chosen to be Miss Garfield County. She will receive a $1,500 scholarship toward her education. Her grandfather grand-father is Garth Roberts. The only Antimony candidates for local elections this fall are William A. Wiley, incumbent mayor, for mayoral position and Tim Westwood and Arthur (Leon) Twitchell have each filed for council positions, which they now hold. Nancy Ford Prather had the misfortune of being thrown from a horse, breaking her arm, one day last week. I Antimony News By Betty Wiley 624-3215 Guess what! It is still raining every day here in Antimony and probably nearly everywhere between be-tween here and Richfield. Our flood in Kingston Canyon even made the TV news. It was really some flood. Some of us coming home that evening from St. George and other places had to turn around in Kingston and go down to Richfield and around by way of Koosharem. Some went by way of John's Valley and Pan-guitch. Pan-guitch. Three cars were trapped between flood areas and the state road workers had to send in equipment to bring them back to Kingston. Three people I know of were: Kenneth King, Tracy Savage Sav-age and Ilene Blood. Tracy Savage Sav-age had her cellular phone and called her dad and had him call he state road department Jane Wiley went by way of John's Valley Val-ley to get to work at Garfield Memorial Hospital. Former residents, Merthell and Beatrice Gleave were in an accident acci-dent up on top of the Fish LakeWayne County highway. They were following a pilot car in construction and a pickup truck from Idaho coming fast hit them from behind. They were both taken by ambulance to Richfield where they spent the night at the hospital and will require around the clock care as they are both in their 80' s. Koami DeLange and Ross Davis were both called and came to help as Beatrice is their mother. Ral and Athalia Jensen attended at-tended the LDS missionary homecoming report for Justin Jen- sen and dinner at the 8th Ward in Richfield. All of their family was there. Six couples traveled to Big Rock Candy Mountain Cafe for dinner on Tuesday evening: George and Bernice Jolley, Burns and Mona Black, Afton and Carol Blood, Eugene and Valeria King, Ral and Athalia Jensen and Van and Betty Wiley. It happened to be Hal Jensen's birthday. Playing on the Thunderbird Baseball Team at Piute High School from Antimony are Kyle Willis, Mike Ransen and Jared Gleave. Mary and Ken Rill have been enjoying their son, Ken, Jr., his wife and family of California and hopefully getting in a little fishing, fish-ing, in spite of the weather. Gannon Roberts has been in the Cedar City hospital as they had to reset his arm and take out the pins. He came home last evening but is in a lot of pain. Ned and Coy Burr have purchased pur-chased the family home of her parents, the Herb Gleaves. They have been busy getting things moved in as all their children will he here for the long weekend. They will use it as a summer home for all their children so they can get out of the city. Practice has started for the LDS Tri-Stake Conference on Sept. 14 to be held in Panguitch. Beaver Stake, Escalante Stake and Panguitch Stake will participate. partici-pate. Antimony had three residents resi-dents go to practice last Sunday: Karma Jolley, Betty Wiley and Bishop Willis. Hopefully, more will come from here. Visitors last week at LDS church were: Connie Shumway. Jay and Cathy Shumway and three children, all from South Jordan.
