Show Garkane Loses Power From Glen Canyon Dam Garkane customers in southern Utah and the municipal power systems sys-tems at Kanab and Fredonia, Ariz., were without electricity Friday afternoon af-ternoon when Glen Canyon Dam experienced a failure in a high voltage volt-age power transformer. Bureau officials from Montrose, Colo., reported the outage occurred at 3 p.m. and lasted approximately 15 minutes., . ; "After the transformer failed, workers were required to bypass the damaged equipment and feed the southern Utah utilities from an alternate al-ternate source," a spokes said. Electricity generated at Glen Canyon Dam provides the primary source of power to Garkane, Kanab and Fredonia, Ariz. |
