Show Boulder News LeNora LeFevre Madlyn Haws was the guest speaker at the commencement . exercises held in Escalante on May , 30 when the Escalante High School seniors graduated. Vickey W. Coleman graduated from the Southern Utah State College on June 7. Vickey is . graduating with high honors. At honors assembly she received the outstanding student award. Jim Brady and Vivian Crosby went to Las Vegas, to the rodeo in which Jim's son Danny Brady participated. , The Kelly Roundy family went to Salina where Kelly participated in the roping event. Howard and Ida Church went to Phoenix and attended the golden wedding reception for their close college friends on June 6. While there they visited with their families in the Gilbert area. Otto and Idona Haws celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 7 with a delightful reception held at the church. Besides the friends and relatives from Boulder and Escalante these people came: Otto's son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sherrill Haws and four children Randy, Sherry, Lisa, and Douglas and the husbands, wives and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Erway Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth I. Larsen, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Grant Lyman, Elda Adams, Melba Mathews, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Wooley of the Provo area, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Baker, Mr. and Mrs. LaRell Baker, nia Winn, Richfield; Dr. and Mrs. Neal Henry Jepsen, Denver; Mr. and Mrs. Mel King, Johnny Hickmen, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Boyd and Renon Peterson, Las Vegas and Kathleen Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Littlefield, Tropic; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Alvey, Lyman; Elaine Euqunta, Reed Jepsen, Las Vegas; Obe and Dora Wright, California; Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Ray King, Salt Lake City; Jim and Aleene Haws, Colorado; their son Jimmy came, Ruby Myers, Panguitch; Morell Ormond, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Wilson, St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Dee Haws and Mina Porter, Escalante were present. After the reception a delicious dinner was served to the Haws and Alvey families, a total of seventy five persons were present. |
