Show - Boulder Hews - LeNora LeFevre Compliments to Madlyn Haws, teacher of the Escalante band. Two weeks ago on October 26 the Escalante band took first place at the band marching competition for the second time this fall. They competed with six other bands in Cedar City at SUSC the cavalcade of bands and took first place for small schools in the band marching competition. The students range from the fifth to the twelfth grade with thirty-nine pupils participating. Natalie Coombs, Stacy Davis and Candance Haws of Boulder were with this group. Mr. and Mrs. Max Behunin enjoyed having these grandchildren at their home for a short time. Sharleen Behunin of Payson and Dean Behunin of Salem came the first week of deer season. Mr. and' Mrs. Tye Sawyer of St. George came to spend the weekend with them. Dr. Monte Bateman and friends were here at his ranch during deer season. Kirk Lyman son Claude is home for a while. Primary conference was held on October 27. The program was supervised by the presidency Julie Lyman, Gladys LeFevre, and Norma Petty. The theme was on Isaiah and Jeremiah and the importance of scripture study of the bible. Narrators were Connie Coombs and Chad Lyman. Thirty five children participated in the program with songs and talks. The Burr Trail road is nbw being surveyed from Boulder to Capitol Reef Park. Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel R. Jensen of Magna stopped by to see LeNora LeFevre. She is the step daughter of Rio Henry Peterson and they were hunting the Peterson ranches. |
