Two Men Honored At SUSC Business Banquet TROPIC Two men, both with close ties to Tropic, were honored recently at Southern Utah State College for business achievements. - Evan Jolley, owner of Jolley's Ranch Wear in Cedar City, has been named Phi Beta Lambda's business person of the year. He was honored at the SUSC business club's annual banquet. Mike Olsen, who presented the award, said, "We're ecstatic about this year's recipient. Jolley's support of SUSC and Cedar City and surrounding area is' unmatched." Jolley told the students that he was "proud to be honored by this group. When I came to Cedar City in 1965, 1 had no idea it would blossom as it has." He was also named business person of the year at the Utah State Phi Beta Lambda convention in St. George on May 5. Jolley is a son of Thelma Littlefield Jolley and the late Layton Jolley of Tropic. He and his wife, Janine, have six children. Ronald Millet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Millet, was honored by the faculty of the Business Department of SUSC as outstanding alumnus of the year. Gary Giles presented the award and told of Millett's climb with Deseret Book. Millett is now president of Deseret Book and lives in Riverton, Utah with his wife, Susan, and five children. His mother, Ramona, is also a Tropic native. Millet is a nephew of Jolley, so the awards were definitely a family affair. |
