Show Hatch Happenings Velma Huntington 735-4231 A Mothers Day program was presented by the Sunday School and Primary. A Mothers Day program was also given in sacrament meeting. Michael Sawyer was sustained for ordination to the priesthood as a deacon. He was ordained later in the bishops meeting. Those from here attending the Miss Piute County queen contest "Sitting On Top Of The World" at Piute High School were Benjamin Sawyer, May Sawyer, Ivonne Sawyer, Velma Huntington, Jody Allred, Dianna Sawyer, Lenore Randolph, Courtney Perry and Travis Fagg. May Sawyer's granddaughter, Tracy Roberts, Antimony participated in the queen contest. She was named "Miss Congenialtiy" and "Miss Piute County Fair." Mr. and Mrs. Garth Heap attended the baseball games in Kanab between Cedar City and Kanab. The Heaps' grandson Jeff Heap, Cedar City was one of the players. Alvin Wilhelm spent several days with his family from his job in Nevada. Visiting the weekend with the Wilhelms were the Jacobs, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Wilson visited in Richfelid with his sisters Eunice Cope, Agnes Wilson and his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Wilson, visiting the Calvin Wilsons were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones, Richfield. Calvin Wilson and Garth Heap made a business trip to Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Vere Barnhurst, Las Vegas moved their trailer house on to the Merlin Barnhurst lot for the summer where Ila stayed and Vere went back to his job in Nevada. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Turek were Wynn Turek, Jeff Turek and Randi Tiirelf.'Washington City; Mr.' 1 and Mrs. E. F. Turek received word of a new great grandson. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Mike Turek, Hawaii. Visiting Lillith Wilson Mothers Day weekend were the Kent Wilsons, Parowan; the Scott Poulsens, Riverton and Virginia Wilson, Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Workman, Cedar City visited relatives in town. Visiting Velma Huntington and other relatives were Ileta Dix, Kristy Barabas and April Dix, Panguitch; Melodie Wood and Shawn Wood, Price and Stephanie Dutton, Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lowder were overnight guests in Minersville with the Larry 'Baileys. Sunday visitors at the Lowders were Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Crofts, Orderville. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Humpheries and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Dutton, Hurricane visited the LaVal Sawyers. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Alexander, Salt Lake City visited over the weekend with Effel Riggs. They took Mrs. Riggs to Cedar City to sacrament meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Riggs also attended the meeting in Cedar City where their son Allen was ordained an elder by his father. They all enjoyed a delicious dinner with the Allen Riggs. Visiting Effel Riggs during the week were Mr. and Mrs. George F. Wilson, Tropic in the Interest of the Hillsdale history; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fisher, Washington City and Mr. and Mrs. William Despain, Orem. Visiting Marcie Dutton were Aurelia Orton, Garma Webb, Stephanie Dutton and the Jay Duttons, Cedar City. The Deloy Evans, Hurricane spent Sunday at the Lynne Evans and wished Noreen "Happy Mother's Day". The Kurt Sawyers and the Kent Sawyers, Cedar City visited Mr. and Mrs. David Sawyer. May Sawyer went to Cedar City where she had surgery on her left hand. Hope Dalton and Tyler Stubbs went to Richfield one day With Bonnie Dalton, Panguitch. Thursday the Grant Daltons visited in Kanab with the Gilbert Clarks. On Friday they visited in Parowan with the Wayne Stubbs and brought Brandt Stubbs, Tyler Stubbs and Lance Stubbs back to visit. Visiting the Grant Daltons overnight were the Wayne Stubbs, Parowan. Sunday they went to to Panguitch and accompanied the Bruce Daltons to Parowan to pick up the Wayne Stubbs. Then they all traveled to Cedar City where they enjoyed a Mothers Day dinner. |
