Show Panguitch Patter Judy ilenrle Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hatch, Rupert, Ida. visited his mother Beth Hatch, and Melba's sister Erna Riggs over the Mother's Day weekend. Renee Nolan had open heart surgery at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City during the week. Husband Pat is with her and reports she is doing well and that she should be home this weekend. Betty Allen and daughter Vicki Burton traveled to Las Vegas where they picked up Betty's granddaughter Brooke Lee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lee, and brought her back to Panguitch while her parents are on an all-expense-' paid trip they won to England; Brussells, Belguim; Netherlands; Amsterdam, Holland; Paris; and Coblenz and Trier Germany. They are to be gone for two weeks. Argie Peterson has returned to her home in Brigham City after spending the past two months with her sister Lyle Miller. The evening before she left, Lena Miller, Mary Partridge, June Owens, Argie and Lyle enjoyed dinner and an evening of visiting at Lyle's home. Argie will now begin her duties as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. Millard Hatch, Provo and a friend Shelly Finster, Tayson visited over the Mother's Day weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud Hatch. Claude Hatch had back surgery recently in Salt Lake City and is now home getting along well. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Dodds and Lisa Barney of Cedar City visited their grandmother Velma Barney, and Mr. and Mrs. Maloy Dodds. Ingra Richards traveled to Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. Jay Crosby, where they attended a 75th birthday party for Silas Crosby. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Crosby, Charleen Crosby, Gayleen Burdick, Mr, and Mrs. Robert Crosby, and Cheri Wood, Miner-sville. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Crosby spent Mothers Day with their son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Norma Crosby, Orem. Also there were their sons Layne and Evan, and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Worthen are now home after spending the winter up north. Carla suffered some heart problems but is now feeling much better. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Pat Dix over the weekend were Mr, and Mrs. Casey Dix, St. George and Melodie Dix, Price. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Dix visited the Dixes during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Dix visited in Aurora with Pat's daughter and net husband, Mr. and Mrs. Tracy (Patti) Shaw last week. They also attended their grandson Bret Barney's junior prom at Salina. Mr. and Mrs. Casey Dix and Pat went to Richfield on business Saturday, Clarence Cameron visited at Cottonwood Hospital with his father William G. Canjeron who is 97 years old. He spent five days at the hospital but Is now back in the care center. Mr. and Mrs, Michael Tebbs hosted over the Mother's Day weekend her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, West Valley City and an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Bingham and friend Pauline Wray from Scunthorpe, England. Mr. and Mrs. Ariyn Proctor came from Centerville to visit the Jay Proctors, the Kenneth Jones, the Binghams and Pauline. The Michael Tebbs and the Jay Proctors took their guest to visit Bryce Canyon, Zion's Canyon, Boulder, Brian Head and other points of interest. The folks from England could hardly believe the sight of deep snow over Cedar- Mountain . then on to Zion where the flowers and trees were in bloom.; ,' . . Mrrand Mrs. Larry Barney and V family have been to Santa Ana, Calif, where their son Kris toured a school of court recording. They spent a day at Disneyland and visited the Troy Smith family Troy is going to mortician school. Troy is a former resident whose parents owned the Smith Mortuary here a few years ago., They also visited the Layton Barneys. Mr. and Mrs. Dick (Geneil) Weideman visited her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Matt Houston over the Mother's Day weekend. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hughes have been their daughters and husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Fletcher, Cedar City; and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vezly, Redmond. Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Heaton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Houston, and Mr. and Mrs, Craig Heaton, Salt Lake City attended funeral services for their father and grandfather, Merrell Heaton in Fredonia, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Frandsen, Provo visited his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Clark Frandsen over Mother's Day weekend. Norma Talbot has returned home after spending a month with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Wilcock in Powell, Wyo. she visited her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Barnson in Salt Lake City for a day. She came as far as Salina with her niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. David Irvin, where her sister Pauline Prince the mother of Mrs. Irvin met them and brought Norma and the Irving children back to Panguitch while David and Julie go to Denver on business. Visiting Eva Marshall has been her daughter Wilma Peterson, West Jordan and her granddaughter Cynthia Maxwell, Riverton. Sheridan Miller and son Bryan Toole visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Lyon, Richfield visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. France Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Holman, Suzette Holman, Wenda Sandin, and Virginia Hoesch and daughter Cassidy of Henderson, Nev. traveled to Burleson, Tex. where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Barnson. Michelle Holman and friend Neil Maxwell, Gainesville, Florida met them there to visit. They toured the Dallas-Ft, Worth area and attended a session at the Pallas LDS Temple. Mary Lee and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lee attended the funeral of Dean Alvey In Escalante. Visiting Mary and also attending the funeral of their mother and grandmother were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Lee and 13 family members. Mr, and Mrs. Carvel Henrie have1 returned home after Carvel had surgery in Salt Lake City. Carvel is feeling better and glad to be home. Tom Johnson is spending a month visiting his mother Donna Johnson. Tom is working for a seismograph company near Sacramento, Califj Nolan McGuire and Bill Hatch are patients in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Maloy Dodds, Rea Dodds and Mamie Hatch traveled to Las Vegas over the weekend where they attended the wedding of their granddaughter and niece Charlyn Swapp, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mont Swapp, to Warren Logger. Mary Jean Oldham and daughters, Cindi, Mary Jo, Cheryl Ann and Rebecca, Whittier, Calif, were also there. Ted Chidester and son Brett of Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Art Chidester, Moab; Mr. and Mrs. Cullen Holyoak, Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Henrie, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. David Henrie, Las Vegas; Mr, and Mrs. Eldon Losser, Lori Tebbs and son, Billy Tebbs, Salt Lake City and Robert Tebbs, Cedar City were all here to attend the funeral of Dennis Henrie along with many family members, uncles, aunts, cousins,, friends and classmates, too numerous to mention. The Senior Citizens evening meal and program will be May 17 at 6 p.m. Turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served. There will be a special grandparents program. Make reservations early by calling the center at 676-2281, Faye Worthen at 676-2260, Afton Church at 676-2220, or Ruth Barnes at 676-2355. Mr. and Mrs. Verd Worthen and Mr. and Mrs. Vee Worthen enjoyed Mothers Day at Ruby's Inn as did many others from Panguitch. Verd and Fay received a call from their granddaughter and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Randy Wagner in Virginia wishing Fay a Happy Mothers Day. |
