Show Escalante High School Band Visits Disneyland ESCALANTE Members of the Escalante High School Band left . Tuesday for a trip to Disneyland ai the" invitation of the Disneyland' Hotel. The 32 young people and their chaperones left by bus to play by invitation at Disneyland. Band director is Madlyn Haws. The special invitation came following competition in Provo last fall where the band placed first in competition for small schools bands. Students worked throughout the winter months on fund raisers to gather enough money to make the 4rip, , iQarfield County School District "furnished 'the bus and driver for the trip, but all other expenses were met by the eager students. Among special activities planned, in addition to seeing Disneyland, was a trip to Universal Studios before they leave on Friday for the return trip home. Chaperones on the trip are Sandra Cooper, Marlene Stowe, Carl Davis, Evonne Roundy, Brent Cottam, Patrice Cottam, Reed Munson and Karen Munson. The students earned $135 each and had very little dif ficulty finding grown kids to go with them. Band earned invitation by winning first place in small bands competition. |
