Show Summer Baseball Camp Slated at SUSC May 10 CEDAR CITY - All aspects of baseball will be covered to help young athletes become more ' complete baseball players in Southern Utah State's Hustlin' Birds summer baseball camp June 10-14 oh the SUSC campus. Bill Groves, SUSC head baseball coach, and his staff will concentrate on both individual and team skills. Campers will also receive in struction on the importance of academic success for the student-athlete. A pitching machine will be used for batting practice, and players will be videotaped in action, allowing them to see both their triumps and mistakes. Other areas to be covered by the coaching staff include bunting, batting stance, speed development, base running, sliding, fielding, throwing mechanics, tags, pickoffs, and baseball strategy. All fielding positions will be taught. In addition, Groves said the camp will give players plenty of chances to demonstrate their skills in games played at the camp. The camp is open to all boys and girls age 9-18. The fee of $50 for the week includes insurance, camp T-shlrt, camp report card, camp certificates, individual awards, daily brown bag lunch, and special guest speakers. Registration closes June 1.
