Show Escalante High School News by Sunia Spencer The band carnival which was held on March 23 turned out to be a good fundraiser. Games, booths and dinner were available and those in attendance had a good time. The proceeds will be used to purchase new band uniforms. The Sophomore Skid was held Friday evening, March 30 with the theme, "When I'm Away From You." It was a great success. Cheerleader tryouts for 1984-85 school year were held on March 28. The winners were announced at the Sophomore Skid. They are: Vicki Crawford, Melanie Griffin, Michelle Simmons, and Sunia Spencer. The Future Homemakers of America club held a slave auction where members of the FHA were auctioned off to the highest bidder to be a "slave" for a day. The girls earned a substantial sum of money which they will use to help pay expense of a trip to the state FHA convention. The yearbook staff has been working hard to meet its Final deadline. On Monday the students who have exhibited excellent citizenship the past term were treated to a movie, "Table for Five". Toward the end of the school year, those who have excelled in citizenship will be treated to a special field trip. |
